Grand Gestures

Grand gestures do not need to be made in order to say "I love you." However, those who want to occasionally make a grand gesture may feel a bit stumped as to what exactly to do.

The following examples of grand gestures may be a bit costly or take a lot of time and effort.  However, they are also inspirational examples of how to surprise and delight him by creating an experience for him that will truly rock his world.

Former 49ers Quarterback Steve Young was treated to a world-rocking surprise by his wife, Barb when she organized a flash mob to celebrate his 50th birthday.

Similarly, Shannon Tweed, longtime girlfriend of KISS rocker Gene Simmons, arranged for him to meet his (half) siblings while they were in Israel.

These women know "their men" and knew exactly what would mean a lot to them. What things would change "your man's" world or mean everything to him? What are things he loves or thinks are funny, creative or spectacular? Find a way to incorporate one of these into your grand gesture.



Tip: With careful planning, not all grand gestures need to be costly or time-consuming to arrange. You don't need to break the bank to make a grand gesture. Shop around, call in favors, get creative and have fun.

Do It For Him

You know that thing that your beloved hunk of a man desperately wants or needs to do, but just never gets around to doing? That is the  perfect thing for you to do for him. Whether its him forgetting to take his suits to the dry cleaner, shine his dress shoes, get his watch repaired or pick up a new charger for his phone, if it is something that you can do for him, do so.


Now, if it is something that he is very particular about, you may just want to give him sexy or silly little reminders so he will take care of it himself. Either way, your darling husband will appreciate your thoughtfulness.




Tip: If possible, go the extra mile with this one. For example, if he always forgets to do these little things, setting him up with a free reminder service or you just taking charge of getting them done for him would be a great added bonus. Some programs, such as Thunderbird email, come with add-ons that include reminders. Remember the Milk is another option. It works on cell phones, through Google, etc.

Wear It

You know that thing you would never in a million years wear that your dearest love really wants you to wear? Wear it. Just once. 


It could be risque lingerie, a revealing special occasion dress or a simple pair of jeans when you only wear dress slacks. Its not about the thousand little flaws you will be so quick to pick out in how you look in it (Though I am sure you will look mah-velous, Darling!). Its about creating a fantasy for him. And that is really all that will matter to him: you doing something outside of the box, despite your own hesitancy, just for him.




Tip: Remember this is about doing something for him, so relax and have fun. Throw yourself into the moment and enjoy all the attention and affection he is lavishing on you. Focus on how much it means to him and you may just forget about your own misgivings.
